I just cannot believe this! But I am having to beg for prayers again!

We had just come home from Oxford and Ben (my eldest, 13yrs) was showing the little boys his new models and was using his pen knife to do something ...

He suddenly lost control of the pen knife and cut his finger REALLY deeply. Thank GOD Mark is here as he washed it and has taken him to hospital!

They left about 20 mins ago and I am asking for prayers that he'll be okay and they will be home soon.

Thank you SOOOO much again and I am so sorry to always be asking for prayers!

Love,
Amanda

Oh poor Ben! Typical lad, knows what he is doing - not! I am sure that he will be fine Amanda and will be impressing his brothers and sister with a few stitches and a bandage before the night is out. Prayers winging his way right now!

I used to think when my lot were young that people would think I was abusing one of my boys. He was forever, cutting himself, standing on rusty nails or breaking bones! As a man, he is not too much different!

Let us know what happens. Keep calm my darling,

Eleanor x

More prayers Amanda!
That happened to my brother when we were younger , he was using the knife but it was MY finger that got cut, I still bear the scar!
I only needed one stitch, I hope Ben's as lucky.

Love, Doreen xx

They managed to stitch it all back, and he just has a scar to show off to his friends for a while after!!! Will send prayers ofcourse!! love Barbs x

I can understand your concern Amanda, but if Ben's anything like my son, he'll enjoy showing off his injury to his mates and it might teach him to be more careful next time. I read in a previous post he goes to Cadets. Maybe they could teach him how to use a knife properly? My children did Cubs, Scouts and Explorers and were swinging axes and lighting fires etc. at a young age. Coincidentally, my son sliced his finger on a saw today, he's 16! RollEyes

Thinking of you Amanda - I haven't had this one to cope with yet but would react much the same as you are. Hope he's ok.

Hope Ben`s OK, Amanda - boys are always giving you a fright. Jacob & Ethan had separate trips to A & E yesterday : Jacob was taken from school after he fell & split his head, and Ethan ended up there later having having trapped his fingers badly in a bedroom door! Boys will be boys!!

SORRY!

They were seen very quickly by a nurse and then had to wait to see the DR.

He's had it stitched and dressed properly. He was SO calm so I felt very proud of him, I am sure his cadets has been a brilliant influence on him.

He does know how to use the knife properly- he bought it in France when we went there and he's always been very sensible with it. It flicked back onto his finger.

It has torn the nail and the skin which was why Mark decided to take him to hospital.

He is better today although it's throbbing alot and is at Latin but no writing as guess what? Writing hand! ALL three of the older children have hurt their hands this week, it is a conspiracy! LOL

Sorry for my panic! I would have been a useless nurse that's for sure!

Much love,
Amanda
